Star of hit sci-fi series only did it to because the role allowed him to pretend to be a woman!

Scott Bakula today finally admitted what everyone else has suspected for years – that the only reason he was ever in Quantum Leap was because he liked to dress up in women’s clothes, which the role sometimes demanded, and have sex with unwitting male characters.




Bakula played Sam Beckett, a doctor who could travel through time within his own life span, making right what once was wrong and contributing to a better world in the cult sci-fi hit, which ran between 1989 and 1993 and remains a firm favourite with many.

Beckett would enable this changing of the past by temporarily inhabiting the body of a person integral to that week’s story. One of the quirky aspects of this was that sometimes he would be a man in a woman’s body. Thus the viewers would see Bakula in full woman’s outfits and make-up, with no-one else aware that he was not in fact a woman.

Of course, and in hindsight, most controversially, this would often include the men who were with those women – husbands and boyfriends who would rightly think nothing of an arm around the shoulder here, a pinch of the bottom there, a full-on love-making session after dinner.

While much of the humour of the show would come out of Sam Beckett desperately trying to wriggle out of these situations without blowing his cover, many were not convinced, indeed it was obvious to some that Bakula was having the time of his life, running around and giggling coquettishly, making feeble protests that were easily overcome, and in some cases instigating fellatio.

So now the truth is out: Bakula loved nothing more than dressing as a woman while enjoying man love. Speaking about it on TV today, the actor said "Oh, no, not me, I’m a big gruff toughie, don’t mess with me!" Then spotting a hunky cameraman, Bakula changed, saying to the man "Ooh, don’t you have such lovely strong arms?" .

Then the actor applied lipstick and put on a poorly executed Southern belle accent, saying "Why hello there, my pretty little thing. Ain’t you just the finest thing I’ve ever seen?" while giggling and dropping a handkerchief.
