I'm sorry to announce this, but that error was the last straw for me. It wasn't enough that our president was exposed as a sex-pest at last year's convention. It wasn't enough that Ricki Lake formally distanced herself from our group. Now this! We try to have a SERIOUS debate and misspell her name.
As I have announced on the website, I am formally resigning as vice-president of the Ricki Lake society. I will still continue to support the cause, but my membership of this group is now over.
What is IMPORTANT is to keep this under wraps. If the Maury and Montel folks find out about this scandal, we will lose all credibility forever. It is good that this is being aired out here away from their eyes.

By the way, I just looked up John Barrowman on Wikipedia. He has NOTHING to do with Ricki whatsoever. He's a gay TV presenter. What the hell are we doing here?

It should be something light, but important, like a sick animal in a zoo. Let's all search for news stories about an elephant that a zoo is thinking of putting down somewhere in the US.
Then, the Ricki Lake Society issues a press release urging that zoo to keep the elephant alive. We will be invited on CNN and other news shows and can raise our profile!
This is HUGE so let's really get SERIOUS about this!!!

Ok, you dorks here. I've clicked over to this discussion from the website and am pretty shocked about your facts:
1st: It is Ricki Lake, not Rikki. Call yourselves true fans?
2nd: Rick Lake decided to end the show in 2004 to spend more time with her family. The show was never cancelled.
3rd: Ricki has lost more than 125 pound so it is simply unfair to call her fat.
I just wish people would get their facts right on this issue.
