Former Labour minister David Blunkett has sensationally accused Labour Minister Peter Mandelson of causing his blindness by ‘pouring poison’ into his eyes while both politicians were at Cambridge.
Blunkett, who was set to return to politics before his cyanide-loving ex-colleague was reappointed, also claimed that Mandelson poured poison onto the hairs of Chancellor Alastair Darling, causing the hair on his head to go white. According to the sightless MP, it was only a particularly tight John Macenroe-style head-band that saved Darling’s jet black eyebrows from the same fate.
The allegations come just days after Mandelson was accused of ‘pouring poison’ into the ear of Tory Shadow Minister John Osborne.
Last night Mr Osborne’s condition worsened, despite the efforts of doctors to save his hearing. Mr Mandelson declined to comment.
