Tragic end to sad cartoon character's life
Hastings, Sussex: Cartoon character Fido Dido was today found dead in his room in a hostel. Dido was a huge star all across the world in the 1990s, when his likeness was used to sell 7Up around the world, his popular trademark hair and laid back demeanour making him the on-can mascot of a generation.
But sadly 7 Up replaced Dido with the Cool Spot (TM) icon, and Dido soon slipped away into a life of drink and drug addiction, briefly reappearing on The Farm on Channel 5 and on Diet 7 Up cans in Australia. Mr Dido could never replace the highs of his early 90s fame, though, which has sadly led to the star deciding to take his life in a bedsit in the seedier part of the coastal town.
We tried to reach singing sensation Dido for a comment, but she angrily declined.
