In a cruel twist of fate, a SHOCK house fire at Pete Townsend's home has DESTROYED the only manuscript of his finally completed book about paedophilia, a book Townsend famously started in 1999 when he did some special 'research' on some choice websites.




DISTRAUGHT


Obviously so overcome with grief that he seemed almost deliriously happy, Townshend struggled to keep a straight face as he told of how an improperly discarded cigarette in a waste paper basket started a fire that totally destroyed the book (and his whole house), before he had time to send it to the publishers.



When asked about his computer, Townshend grew defensive, until it was explained that he must surely have written it on the computer, and thus would have a hard copy. "No, I only use pen and paper...that's rock n' roll!", he explained.






However, in a bizarre twist it was also revealed that troubled pop star Peter Andre had popped in to say hi and have a cup of coffee, so he could give the Who legend an exclusive listen of his long awaited new album. "But I left it near the fire and it got totally burnt, mate", a stricken and giggling Andre added.



Police declined to comment.
